歌劇魅影原本是由法國作家Gaston Leroux 於1911所寫出的小說。
1911年，這小說剛出版時並沒有引起太多的注意。
直到1925年，它被法國名演員朗夏內（Lon Chaney）搬上銀幕，才開始轟動一時。
之後在1943、1962、1974、1989和1998年，又先後被拍成電影。1982年，它還出現過電視版本。
至於 Andrew Lloyd Webber 是依照此小說的內容，加以增減寫出 The Phantom of the Opera 的音樂劇。
從80年代 Webber 將歌劇魅影編寫成音樂劇後，才算得上是歌劇魅影發揚光大的開始。
這次的電影，就是把 Webber 所編寫的音樂劇搬上大螢幕。
雖然很早之前就聽過歌劇魅影的音樂，但是一直無緣了解該歌劇的內容，所以還是拉著小欣跑去看了。
第一次完整的接觸歌劇魅影，這愛情故事似乎不是那麼的感人。
Phantom的醜陋心態，Christine的現實，在這段愛情故事裡種下了無可避免的悲劇影子。
從掀起水晶燈那一刻起無可言喻的震撼力開始。
劇場從老舊的黑白畫面進入充滿色彩的金碧輝煌，彷彿地獄之火自水晶燈那端焚起了那深層記憶，導引著整個故事的開端...
一直到坐到屁股快麻痺的結尾。
兩個半小時的音樂劇形式的電影，雖然不是非常完美，但 The Phantom of the Opera 這段主題曲的音樂確實震撼了我。
到現在那餘音依然「inside my mind ...」
不可思議。
很可惜的是，電影開頭雖然有著很華麗、壯觀、和諧的開端，但從進入歌劇院地下那段開始，場景的營造似乎變得比較弱。
整個華麗壯觀的場景及前面的鋪陳，到這邊之後整個就虛掉了。
我相信很多喜歡看電影的人，以電影的角度來看這部戲的話，大概都會覺得導演這次表現其實不能算好。
不過那些缺失，依然不影響那歌劇的震撼力。
還是把它當歌劇看吧。
我真的愛死這首主題曲了。
